About the Author
John Walbridge is a Professor of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at Indiana University. He is the author of nine books on Islam and Arabic culture, including four books on Islamic philosophy, including The Wisdom of the Mystic East: Suhrawardi and Platonic Orientalism (2001) and Suhrawardi: The Philosophy of Illumination (with Hossein Ziai, 1999).

An important lesson in Islamic history

While I was hoping to gain a better understanding of how principles of the Islamic faith and its main tenets or beliefs incorporate the use of logic and reason, the book nonetheless proved to be a crucial insight into the history of this religion and key developments that have shaped its presence today. Well researched, a great scholarly endeavor, with very helpful suggestions on supplementary sources for the interested reader and student.

No E-Book is worth $60+!

Why anyone would buy an e-book for $60+ is beyond me. That is way too high of a price to ask, and the price, if the product is going to have more buyers, absolutely MUST come down. A much better asking price would be $15. Anything over $20 would be just silly.
